The plan

What we’re building.

Notice

Nutcase is in development. Everything described on this page is planned and may change or not ship. Nothing here is a commitment to deliver any feature by any date.

  • Planned

    Cases

    The matter is the hub.

Parties, deadlines, documents, notes, and every message on one record, so nothing about a case lives in someone’s inbox or head.

  • Planned

    Feed

    What changed, firm-wide.

A live activity feed for the whole firm, and a personal one scoped to each lawyer’s own cases.

  • Planned

    Tasks

    Tied to the matter.

Tasks attached to cases and people, with due dates that show up where the work actually happens.

  • Planned

    Intakes & leads

    First call to signed client.

Capture a prospective client, run the intake, and convert to a matter without re-typing anything.

  • Planned

    Client texting

    Inside the case file.

Text clients from the web app or the mobile app, with every message in both directions filed to the matter.

Requires client opt-in. Clients can reply STOP at any time.

  • Planned

    Mobile app

The whole product, not a viewer.

Planned apps for iPhone and Android™ with full functionality, built to minimize taps and repeated data entry.

  • Planned

    Nutarize™

    Notarization workflows.

Request, schedule, and complete notarizations with a commissioned notary without leaving the matter.

Notarial acts are performed only by commissioned notaries. Availability varies by state.

  • Planned

    Docgen

    Your templates, filled in.

Upload your firm’s templates. Generate documents from case data, store them on the matter, and export as .docx or PDF.

  • Planned

    Change log

    Every change, in line.

A line-by-line record of every change on every case: who, when, before, and after. Entries are added, never edited or deleted.

  • Planned

    Settlement modeling

    Run the scenarios.

Model settlement scenarios from your firm’s own inputs: policy limits, fees, liens, costs, and net to client.

Estimates for attorney evaluation, not legal advice or predictions.

  • Planned

    Email, filed

    Out of the inbox.

Inbound email matched to the right matter, attachments saved to the file, and unmatched mail flagged for a human.

  • Planned

    AI-assisted summaries

    A draft, not a decision.

Draft case summaries and timelines from the file so attorney review starts from a draft instead of a blank page.

AI can make mistakes. Lawyers review and verify all output.

Design rule

Fewer clicks is a rule, not a feature. Every screen is being built to minimize taps and repeated data entry, because a PI practice mostly happens away from a desk.

Client texting · planned

Text clients from the case file, not from someone’s personal phone.

Nutcase’s text messaging program lets a law firm exchange SMS text messages with its own clients from the web app and the planned mobile apps. The firm is the sender. Every message in both directions is filed to the matter.

  • Clients opt in first. Consent is captured on the firm’s intake form, by keyword, or in the app, and recorded with the date and the exact wording the client agreed to.

  • Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Handled automatically and logged on the matter, so nobody has to remember.

  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Standard disclosures are built into every opt-in.

  • Standard SMS, honestly described. Carriers don’t encrypt texts in transit, so the app is designed to keep sensitive documents in the file and out of the thread.

Texting requires client opt-in and carrier registration. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Read the SMS Terms of Service.

Change log · planned

Every change, in line, on the record.

When someone asks what happened and when, it’s already written down. Every change on every case is logged line by line, and the log doubles as the audit trail.

  • Field-level history. Before and after for every value, not just “record updated”.

  • Who and when. Every entry names the person or the system action behind it.

  • Added, never edited or deleted. The log is append-only, and that includes admins.

  • Filter by person, field, or date. Find the one change that matters without scrolling the whole matter.

Settlement modeling + AI · planned

Run the numbers. Draft the summary. Keep the judgment.

Settlement modeling runs scenarios from your firm’s own inputs: policy limits, fees, liens, costs, and net to client. AI-assisted summaries draft a case overview and timeline from the file, so attorney review starts from a draft instead of a blank page.

  • Your inputs, side by side. Compare scenarios on one screen and save the one you’re working toward.

  • Drafts, clearly labeled. Every AI-generated summary is marked as a draft and links back to the source entries it drew from.

  • Nothing leaves the file that doesn’t need to. AI features are being designed to send only what a draft requires.

Outputs are estimates for attorney evaluation, not legal advice, valuations, or predictions of any outcome.

Generative AI can make mistakes. Lawyers remain responsible for reviewing and verifying all output. Firm data is not used to train AI models.

Intake to settlement

Built around how a PI case actually moves.

  1. 01

    Intake

A lead comes in by phone, web, or referral. Intake captures the facts once, including the client’s texting consent, and converts to a matter without re-typing.

  2. 02

    Build the file

Records requests go out. Inbound email lands on the matter automatically. Tasks and deadlines live where the work is.

  3. 03

    Work it from anywhere

Update the case from a courthouse hallway on the mobile app. Text the client from the file. Every change is logged as it happens.

  4. 04

    Resolve

Model scenarios with your own numbers, generate the release from your firm’s template, and close the matter with the full record intact.

Straight answers

Questions we’d rather answer up front.

Anything else: [email protected].

When does Nutcase launch?

We don’t have a date, and we won’t publish one until we’re sure of it. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when there’s something to try.

How much will it cost?

Pricing isn’t set. Nothing on this site is an offer, and joining the waitlist doesn’t commit you or us to anything.

Is Nutcase a law firm? Is any of this legal advice?

No. Nutcase App LLC is a software company. Nothing on this site is legal advice, using it doesn’t create an attorney-client relationship, and Nutcase is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney.

Does Nutcase notarize documents?

No. Only a commissioned notary public can perform a notarial act. Nutarize™ is a planned workflow for requesting, scheduling, and completing notarizations with a commissioned notary from inside the matter. Notarial acts are performed only by commissioned notaries public. Remote online notarization availability, requirements, and whether a recipient accepts a remotely notarized document vary by state.

Will my clients get text messages from Nutcase?

Only from your firm, and only after they opt in. The firm is the sender; Nutcase provides the software. Clients can reply STOP at any time, and HELP for help. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. The details are in the SMS Terms of Service linked in the footer.

Is firm or client data used to train AI?

Firm data is not used to train AI models. AI-assisted features are being designed to send only what a draft requires, and every AI-generated summary is a draft for attorney review, not advice.

How will client data be protected?

Personal injury cases run on medical records, so we’re designing Nutcase to treat all case data with that level of care: encryption in transit and at rest, individual logins with multi-factor authentication, permissions by role, and export of the firm’s data in usable formats, including if you leave. We’ll document the specifics before launch, and we won’t claim a certification we don’t hold.

Who is behind Nutcase?

Nutcase App LLC, a Colorado limited liability company based in Denver. Questions go to [email protected].
